Hi everyone, Well Ive had my first infusion of infliximab.. Nothing majorly different yet except I had a really awful headache on Saturday went for a lie down and slept for 4 hours! Since then I still feel very tired and sort of lightheaded, I have to go back next week for the 2nd infusion and really hope I dont suffer again as I have to go back to work this wednesday (after 4 weeks sick) as I am at the max with my sick days due to time off last summer following a shoulder op. Its all a bit worrying as I still have a lot of joint pain, cant drive at the mo and trying to adjust to the new meds. Anyway fingers crossed things settle down. Take care love Ceri xx

Hi Ceri Hope the infliximab brings relief and that the side effects quickly wear off. Try not to overdo things.
Best wishes Sue

hi Ceri,
i was wondering how you'd got on.
hope the affects subside for you .. and start to give some relief for the pain.
do they say it can take up to 12 weeks to work like most of the other RA Drugs..?
sorry you've got to struggle back to work,
do keep us posted and take care,
Suzanne x

Hello Ceri,
I was wondering how you were doing. Pleased that you have had first infusion and things went reasonably well. I hope the second one sees you feeling less painful and the headaches disappear.

Hi Ceri Glad to hear your first infusion is out of the way! My first anti-tnf was Infliximab and I responded well to it. It can take anything from 2-12 weeks to get a response but often things start to improve after the 2nd infusion and certainly after the third. You are in a difficult position though with having to return to work so soon. I found the infusion took a lot out of me at the start, much more so than injected anti tnfs, but the benefits came about more quickly. You do need to be particularly careful in the early stages to avoid infections and also to get plenty of rest whilst the drug does its 'magic'. Hope you start to feel better soon Lyn x

Hi Ceri,
Good luck for your return to work. It's a shame it couldn't have waited till you'd had more time on the infliximab.
Love, Doreen xx

Hi Everyone Thanks for your good wishes, I havent gone into work I had a really bad night and in a lot of pain so I rang my manager and asked if I could take holidays until after the 2nd infusion..She told me to have this week sick and nxt week hols. Its not ideal and I feel so guilty like Im letting everyone down although to be fair the girls I work with are brilliant and dont want me back like this anyway. Anyway hopefully after next lot of treatment Il be a new me! Thanks Love Ceri xx

Hi Ceri Pleased to hear a compromise has been reached on the work front. It would have been hopeless going back before the second infusion, it really does need time to kick in and do its thing. Fingers crossed for No.2 :) Lyn x
